Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Al-Qalam Al-Moner Journal for Humanities and Applied Sciences is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and strictly opposes all forms of malpractice. We believe that integrity and transparency are essential for the reliability and quality of scientific knowledge. The journal adheres to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of Involved Parties:

1. Authors:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: All submitted research must be original and unpublished. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. The journal uses Plagiarism Checker X to screen all submissions; the similarity index must not exceed 25%.

  • Data Accuracy: Data and results must be accurate and honest. Fabrication or falsification of data is strictly rejected.

  • Authorship: All listed authors must have made a significant intellectual contribution to the research.

  • Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest (financial, personal, or academic).

  • Ethical Approvals: Necessary approvals must be obtained for research involving living subjects or sensitive data.

2. Reviewers:

  • Objectivity and Confidentiality: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and maintain the absolute confidentiality of the content.

  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must recuse themselves if a conflict of interest exists regarding the authors or the research content.

  • Punctuality: Review reports must be submitted within the specified timeframes to ensure a timely publishing process.

3. Editorial Board:

  • Fairness and Transparency: Publication decisions are based solely on scientific merit without discrimination.

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts and reviewer information are handled with strict confidentiality.

  • Integrity: Firm and transparent actions are taken whenever malpractice is suspected or proven.

Procedures for Handling Malpractice:

If malpractice is suspected (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification, or undisclosed conflicts of interest), the journal will:

  1. Initial Investigation: Conduct an internal preliminary assessment by the editorial team.

  2. Communication: Contact the concerned authors or reviewers to request formal clarifications and evidence.

  3. Corrective Actions: Based on investigation results, actions may include:

    • Rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the published article.

    • Publishing an official correction or retraction statement.

    • Imposing a temporary or permanent ban on future submissions from the involved authors.

    • Informing the relevant academic institutions if necessary.
